OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Sunday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $47,706 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s 10-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $2,400 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 5 with the favored Bourbon Chase [No. 3, $6.10*] taking a one-turn mile state-bred optional-claimer with Dylan Davis aboard for trainer Mike Maker.
Conditioner Jimmy Ferraro sent out the next winner with the Lane Luzzi-piloted longshot Howling Wind [No. 3, $60], who captured a seven-furlong New York-bred maiden, in Race 6. One race later, Scat Tu Tap [No. 8, $19.40] won a one-mile claimer with Manny Franco in the irons for trainer Antonio Arriaga, in Race 7.
In Race 8, the seven-furlong $500,000 NYSSS Great White Way, the dual Eclipse Award-winner Brad Cox-conditioned Sacrosanct [No. 2, $3.10*] was game under Franco to hold off National Identity for the win. In Race 9, the $500,000 NYSSS Fifth Avenue at the same distance, Stone Smuggler [No. 12, $7.80] won under Jose Lezcano for trainer Jorge Abreu.
With 7-of-10 horses left uncovered in the Race 10 finale, a nine-furlong maiden claimer, the James Ryerson-trained and Christopher Elliott-piloted Just Be Honest [No. 6, $38.60] prevailed, triggering the carryover.
Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 5 at approximately 1:37 p.m. Eastern. First post for the 10-race card is 11:40 a.m.
