NYRA Press Office
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Sunday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $45,779 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s 11-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $476.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday’s sequence began in Race 6 with Trust Fund [No. 6, $6.60*] taking a 6 1/2-furlong state-bred allowance with Kendrick Carmouche up for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher. The Linda Dixon-trained Mo Kreesa [No. 7, $6.70*] followed with a win in Race 7, a one-mile turf claimer, with Ricardo Santana, Jr. in the irons for his second win on the day.
Race 8 saw the Phil Serpe-trained Terminal Velocity [No. 4, $16.20] graduate in a nine-furlong state-bred turf maiden under Jose Lezcano, one race before Carmouche earned his third win on the card in Race 9 with the Rick Dutrow, Jr.-trained Lady Arwen [No. 2, $13] in a one-mile claiming tilt.
Eric Cancel earned a riding double in the day’s last two races, beginning with Barnstorming [No. 3, $4.90*] for trainer Michael Miceli in Race 10, a one-mile turf claimer.
With half the field covered in the 10-horse Race 11 finale, Cancel guided the Linda Rice-trained Maybern [No. 7, $28.60] to win the six-furlong state-bred maiden claiming tilt over the lawn and trigger the carryover.
Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at approximately 2:05 p.m. Eastern. First post for the nine-race card that features the John Hettinger in Race 8 is 12:40 p.m.
