OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Friday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $25,972 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $332.97 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Thursday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with a win from Gratefully [No. 7, $6.98] in an off-the-turf six-furlong starter optional claimer with Dylan Davis aboard for trainer Rob Falcone, Jr.
Luis Rivera, Jr. piloted the Ken McPeek-conditioned Supreme Good [No. 9, $10.54] to capture an off-the-turf one-turn mile maiden optional claimer, in Race 4. The next race saw Systemic Change [No. 1, $6.78] prevail under Hall of Famer Joel Rosario in a one-turn mile claimer for trainer Ilkay Kantarmaci, in Race 5.
In Race 6, Eric Cancel navigated Zuby [No. 5, $12.44] to a deep-closing victory in an off-the-turf six-furlong maiden optional claimer for trainer George Weaver. In Race 7, a nine-furlong optional claimer ,Whittington Park [No. 7, $23.76] rallied to a 10-1 upset, with Manny Franco up for conditioner Rudy Rodriguez.
With just 2-of-7 horses covered heading into the Race 8 finale, an off-the-turf one-turn mile state-bred maiden, the Pat Quick-trained Hello Beauty [No. 2, $8.78] proved victorious with Kendrick Carmouche in the saddle, triggering the carryover.
Friday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at approximately 2:35 p.m. Eastern and features the Grade 2 Beldame, a part of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Dozen series, in Race 7. First post for the nine-race card is 1:10 p.m.
