OZONE PARK, N.Y.— Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $16,809 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,400.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence began in Race 3 with the Edmund Pringle-trained Lord Gatling [No. 5, $12] taking a one-mile claiming tilt with Eliseo Ruiz up. Cees Get Degrees [No. 2, $14] followed in Race 4 with a six-furlong claiming score with Eric Cancel aboard for conditioner Tom Morley.
In Race 5, Thirteen Red Flags [No. 8, $12.20] scored her first victory against winners when taking a six-furlong optional claiming sprint for New York-bred sophomore fillies. Isaac Castillo was aboard for trainer and co-owner Amira Chichakly. Race 6 saw Cancel score his second win on the card as he guided Hero’s Medal [No. 3, $9.90] from off the pace to graduate in a seven-furlong maiden for conditioner Linda Rice.
The John Terranova-trained Thrill of It [No. 10, $10.60] notched his second consecutive victory in the featured Race 7, a six-furlong allowance for older horses. Luis Rivera, Jr. engineered the winning ride.
With just one horse covered in the final leg, the Patrick Reynolds-trained I’m Buzzy [No. 6, $8.40] triggered the carryover and provided Ruiz his second win on the card in Race 8, a one-mile starter allowance for older fillies and mares.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 5 at 1:50 p.m. Eastern and features the Listed $150,000 Heavenly Prize Invitational in Race 9. First post on the 10-race card is 11:50 a.m.
