Peter Miller says Mo Forza will skip Breeders’ Cup

October 24, 2020

Trainer Peter Miller reported leading Breeders’ Cup Mile contender suffered a minor setback and will skip the Breeders’ Cup this year. He is hopeful Mo Forza will be back for next year’s Breeders’ Cup.

“If all goes well, we’ll run in the Breeders’ Cup next year at Del Mar. What happened is just bad timing. I think he’s the best turf miler in the world, and I’m disappointed he won’t be able to prove it this year.”

The Bardy Farm and OG Boss owned 4-year-old son of Uncle Mo is 2 for 3 in 2020. He’s won the Del Mar Mile Handicap G2 and City of Hope Mile Stakes also a Grade 2.

Peter Miller worked his other Breeders’ Cup contenders. C Z Rocket went a half-mile in :48 1/5 and Bulletproof One went the same distance in :51 3/5. The latter is pointed toward the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1), while Bulletproof One is a Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) possibility but will need to be chosen by the selection committee to gain entrance if the race oversubscribes.

Peter Miller has quite the record in Breeders’ Cup sprints. He’s won multiple Sprints and Turf Sprints. He won the Sprint with Roy H in both 2017 and 18 and the Turf Sprint the same years with Stormy Liberal. He added another edition of the Turf Sprint last year with Belvoir Bay  who beat beat the boys in the race after being saved and found running on the road after the San Luis Rey fire.
