For the second time, the first being in 1973 when her Secretariat won the Triple Crown, Penny Chenery has won the Big Sport of Turfdom award.
The award is given out to a person who has enhanced the coverage of Thoroughbred Racing through cooperation with the media and publicists. It’s voted on by the Turf Publicists of America members.
Penny Chenery, long known as an ambassador of racing, who was always willing to share her experiences of owning one of the best horses to line up in the gate, passed away earlier this year. She’s a deserving winner who will be missed.
