Corey Nakatani fresh off being inducted into the Horse racing Hall of Fame talks about his career and race riding on Past the Wire TV
Corey Nakatani, fresh off being inducted into the Horse Racing Hall of Fame, sits down with Jonathan Stettin on Past The Wire TV. As always we take you past the wire and Corey was phenomenal.
We all know Corey was a 10 time Breeders’ Cup winner with another 10 second place finishes along with a Kentucky Oaks win and a Kentucky Derby second. He was known as a fierce competitor in the saddle and was never afraid to speak his mind or to take on a challenge. He won back to back Breeders’ Cup sprints aboard Lit de Justice and Elmhurst for Jenine Sahadi making her the first women trainer to win a Breeders’ Cup race….twice.
Corey and Jon share a passion for the sport and that comes out loud and clear. Listen to Corey describe how he race rode other jockeys into making mistakes and how he would figure out how to win without being on the best horse.
If you are a fan of race riding and what goes on in the mind of a rider before and during a race you won’t want to miss this episode of Past the Wire TV. Corey tells the story of a horse he was willing to pay the 250K to get into the Breeders’ Cup who Jon singled and hit the Pick 6 with. Of course they talk Lava Man and Corey’s Kentucky Oaks win on Pike Place Dancer.
