One of the early horses on most people’s Kentucky Derby lists is McCracken. McCracken has been extremely impressive to date and makes his much anticipated three-year old debut Saturday in the Sam F. Davis at Tampa Bay Downs.
The race is no cakewalk, however. It is being run over the “quirky” Tampa Bay Downs strip, a surface that can be heavy and tiring.
Todd Pletcher has two in there, including the undefeated Fact Finding who can prove to be a handful. He also runs Tapwrit with Jose Ortiz in to ride. Mark Casse also has a pair in there. It should make for an interesting and telling afternoon for McCracken.
