LOUSIVILLE, Ky.— Klaravich Stables McKulick (GB) and Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables and Robert LaPenta’s Shantisara (IRE), two Grade I winners trained by Chad Brown head a field of nine for the 66th running of the Modesty (GIII) for fillies and mares going 1 1/8 miles over the Matt Winn Turf Course.
The Modesty will go as the sixth race with a 1:26 p.m. post time.
McKulick, runner-up in two efforts here last year in the Edgewood (GII) and Regret (GIII), returns to the races for the first time since a runner-up finish in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (GI) at Keeneland in October.
Winner of the Belmont Oaks Invitational (GI) and Jockey Club Oaks Invitational (GIII), McKulick will be ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr. and break from post position six.
Shantisara, winner of the 2021 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, enters the Modesty off a victory in the Hillsborough (GII) at Tampa Baty Downs on March 11. Flavien Prat has the mount and will break from post position seven.
