HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 pool yielded a payout of $20,158.94 for multiple ticketholders Sunday at Gulfstream Park, where the total pool soared well over $8 million.
There was a Rainbow 6 carryover of $1,366,159.50 heading into Sunday program, generating $7,325,523 in wagering on Sunday’s six-race sequence that spanned Races 6-11.
The popular multi-race wager had gone unsolved for 11 consecutive programs leading up to Sunday’s mandatory payout.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.
The winners of the six-race sequence were Bareeqa ($4.20) in Race 6, Tiz Possible Dear ($9) in Race 7, Street Ready ($15.40) in Race 8, Yes I See ($7.20) in Race 9, No Way Jose ($14.20) in Race 10 and Follow the Flag ($17.80) in Race 11.
The Rainbow 6 will start anew on Thursday’s 10-race program.
