HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be held on Sunday’s Father’s Day program at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager went unsolved Thursday for the sixth racing day following a jackpot hit for $143,445.12.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to grow to and estimated $150,000.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, featuring a pair of five-furlong maiden special weight sprints for 2-year-olds. Joel Santiago-trained Street Belle and Michael Yates-trained Ifyousaidso, second and third, respectively, while debuting May 29, meet again in Race 4. Jack Sisterson-trained Inordinary, who will be equipped with blinkers after finishing third in his recent debut, will meet seven well-bred, well-connected first-time starters in Race 6.
In the Race 7 feature, a six-furlong optional claiming allowance for 3-year-old and up, Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Nautical Star, a multiple graded stakes-placed son of Dixie Chatter is scheduled to return from a 13-month layoff. C2 Racing Stable LLC’s 8-5 morning-line favorite will be ridden by Edgard Zayas. Ronald Coy-trained Cacciatore, rated second at 9-5 on the morning line, will seek his fourth straight victor while coming off a 14-month layoff.

The Rainbow 6 carryover pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory-payout days, the entire Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the wager’s six-race sequence.
