‘All Others’ 4-5 Favorite, Ted Noffey 10-1 In Pool 1 Of Kentucky Derby Future Wager

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Live racing resumed Wednesday at Churchill Downs for a five-day week highlighted by the opportunity to watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Del Mar on Friday and Saturday.
First post each day is 1 p.m. (all times Eastern) with admission gates on Friday and Saturday opening early at 11:15 a.m.
Friday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs will run from 1-6:45 p.m. while the Breeders’ Cup “Future Stars Friday” card at Del Mar begins at 2:35 p.m. The first of five Breeders’ Cup races starts at 5:45 p.m. with the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (GI). The featured event is the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (GI), which goes as Race 9 at 7:45 p.m. and is part of the “Prep Season” on the Road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve that awards qualifying points to the top five finishers on a 30-15-9-6-3 scale toward Kentucky Derby 152.
Saturday’s 11-race live card at Churchill Downs, featuring the 17th running of the $300,000 Bet On Sunshine (Listed) in Race 7, will take place from 1-7:20 p.m. Action at Del Mar begins at 1:05 p.m. with the first of nine Breeders’ Cup events going as Race 4 at 3 p.m. The $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (GI) is Race 9 at 6:25 p.m.
Several members of the Churchill Downs jockey colony will be in action at Del Mar during the Breeders’ Cup, including Adam Beschizza (Friday only), Tyler Gaffalione, Florent Geroux (Saturday only), Luan Machado (Friday only), Irad Ortiz Jr., Jose Ortiz and Luis Saez.
Simulcast wagering on all Breeders’ Cup races will be available on the second floor of the Clubhouse and in select dining locations. Guests attending Churchill Downs on Friday may advance wager on Saturday’s full Championship card from Del Mar. There is no advance wagering Thursday for Friday’s Breeders’ Cup program.

The first of six opportunities to bet on Kentucky Derby 152 opens Wednesday through Friday with Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, headlined by likely Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Grade I) favorite Ted Noffey (10-1) and the always-popular “All Other Colts and Geldings Foaled in 2023” option among 40 betting choices listed as the overall 4-5 favorite.
Wagering for Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager opens Wednesday at noon (all times Eastern) and will close prior to Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at approximately 6 p.m.
Ted Noffey is one of eight entrants to this year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and has stamped himself at the top of the class for Kentucky Derby 152 following his impressive victories in the Oct. 4 Breeders’ Futurity (GI) at Keeneland and Sept. 1 Hopeful (GI) at Saratoga.
Pool 1 includes eight horses in the care of six-time Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert: #2 Blacksmith (60-1); #3 Boyd (50-1); #4 Brant (15-1); #9 Desert Gate (75-1); #20 Kristofferson (80-1); #21 Litmus Test (80-1); #28 Plutarch (90-1); and #29 Provenance (80-1).

All told, there will be six Future Wager pools for Kentucky Derby 152. Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 and the Sire Future Wager will run Thursday, Nov. 27-Sunday, Nov. 30. Following the New Year, the final four pools will take place: Pool 3 (Jan. 16-18); Pool 4 (Feb. 13-15); Pool 5 (March 13-15) and Pool 6 (April 2-4). The lone Longines Kentucky Oaks Future Wager will run concurrently with Pool 5.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. If Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s pool that one of the wagering interests experiences an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
