Linda Rice to train for Phoenix Ladies

June 19, 2020

Phoenix Ladies Syndicate has added multiple Grade One winner Linda Rice to their training roster.

Rice will oversee the careers of three of the Dubai based team’s runners, among them an American Pharoah filly called Wild America. The most expensive horse purchased by the all-female group to date, the juvenile is out of winning mare Wild Bout Tiffany and from the same family as MGSW Mr Livingstone.

“I am very excited to join the Phoenix Ladies team.” said Rice. “We received our first horse this week in Wild America; she is a beautiful American Pharoah filly with a lot of potential. We are hoping for great things in our new venture together!”

A pioneer for female trainers in North America, Rice has been on the PLS radar for some time.

“We’re delighted to have a such a talented trainer join our team,” said Phoenix Ladies Principal Pamela Cordina. “We have watched her achievements and you can’t fail to be impressed with her record. It’s great we have some good horses to send her and we look forward to the future with great optimism.”

Also joining Rice’s PLS ranks will be A Will Take Charge colt out of Contact who can number G1 winner Sea Hero among his family members in addition to a Declaration Of War filly out of Kaloura. Her family tree includes Multiple Grade One winner Kalanisi and is a half-sister to the Phoenix Thoroughbreds’ owned winner Kadar.
