HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A mandatory payout of the popular 20-cent Rainbow 6 wager will be held Sunday at Gulfstream Park, where the jackpot pool is estimated to surpass $1.5 million.

Post time for the first of 10 races is 12:50 p.m.

The Rainbow 6 has gone unsolved for eight consecutive racing days following multiple mandatory payouts of $14,191.52 July 13. The popular multi-race wager begins with a carryover of $110.621.01 from Saturday’s program.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

However, on mandatory payout days the entire jackpot pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the wager’s six-race sequence.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence begins in Race 5, a six-furlong claiming event for 3-year-olds or 4-year-olds and up that have never won two races. Neshume, six-for-12 lifetime in the money, is the 8-5 program favorite running first off the claim for trainer Laura Cazares while in for a similar $25,000 tag. Endrick steps up off a 2 ¾-length claiming triumph sprinting seven furlongs June 22.

Juveniles are in the spotlight in Race 6, a maiden special weight scheduled for one mile on the grass that drew an overflow field of 16 including four also-eligibles. Coach Kain, by 2021 Pegasus World Cup (G1) winner Knicks Go, makes his second start after running second in a 7 ½-furlong maiden special weight June 29 on the Gulfstream turf. Cadenced returns as a gelding and with blinkers after running eighth in the Royal Palm Juvenile May 10 in debut.

Race 7 is a five-furlong claimer on the all-weather Tapeta course for 3-year-old fillies or fillies and mares 4 and up that have never won three races. Any Moment chases a fifth win from 10 starts and first off a July 6 claim where he was a front-running winner at the course and distance. Gimme Some Luck cuts back following back-to-back victories, each over older horses, going 5 ½ furlongs on the Gulfstream Tapeta.

Eight fillies and mares 3 and up were entered in Race 8, an optional claiming allowance sprinting five furlongs on the grass, led by bay sophomore Love Actually, a front-running 5 ¼-length maiden special weight winner June 28 at Gulfstream after two seconds and two thirds in five prior tries. Free to Roam has put together two straight wins, one each on turf and synthetic, the latter June 12.

Race 9 is a one-mile, 70-yard claiming event on Tapeta for 3-year-olds or 4-year-olds and up which have never won three races or not won since Feb. 3. The 8-year-old gelding Uno Tiger sheds blinkers looking to end a lengthy drought with a seventh career win. Dreams of Myfather makes his synthetic debut exiting a 7 ¼-length claiming event against elders going one mile July 11.

The sequence concludes in Race 10, the $70,000 Warrior’s Pride overnight handicap for 3-year-olds and up sprinting five furlongs on the turf. Synthetic stakes winner Reef Runner, 13-for-17 lifetime in the money, returns as a gelding in his first start since May 1 as one of two entrants for trainer David Fawkes. Trainer Joe Orseno counters with the pair of And Uwish, winner of the Successful Native handicap July 6, and dual stakes-placed Extendo.
