The winners of the 2019 Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards were announced at a luncheon Friday afternoon at Keeneland. The awards are sponsored by Godolphin, along with the Breeders” Cup, The Jockey Club, The American Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the National Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association.
The winners this year were:
Administration Award– Bessie Gruwell of the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association.
Dedication to Breeding Award – Ernest Blair of Lane’s End Farm.
Dedication to Racing Award – Leslie McCall of Moquett Racing.
Leadership Breeding Award – Jenny Carpenter of Buttonwood Farm.
Leadership Racing Award – Saul Castellanos of the Mark Hennig Racing Stable.
Newcomer Award – Amy Stokes of Godolphin.
Thoroughbred Community Award Winner – Bobby Lillis of the Maryland Horseman’s Assistance Foundation and the Maryland Thoroughbred Association.
