Low Five!

High Five!

High Five NBC and TVG for partnering on bringing more live coverage of racing (20 Hours) to TV over the next two weekends. Time to showcase what we can do and what we are about!

Low Five!

We get postponing the Kentucky Derby. We don’t get the announcement by Churchill Downs to “honor” the advance bets on the “old Kentucky Derby” which was to be run the first Saturday in May. Advance betting on a race in May is one thing, a race in September another. This is a disconnect from understanding gambling and the advance wager, and hosing the bettors. Big Low Five Churchill Downs. You should know better. Can anyone say REFUND!

Low Five!

We are all for safety, health, good practices and all that goes with it. We don’t understand the whole casinos open, but tracks closed thing. The tracks have open air areas, and sad to say are less crowded. Casinos pump the same stale air through and through, they are confined, closed in, and people repeatedly tough the slot machines and money. Seems you are more likely to catch something in a casino than a racetrack. An explanation might be nice. Low Fve.

High Five!

High Five Bob Baffert! Authentic, Three Rings, Thousand Words, Charlatan, Nadal, all on the Kentucky Derby trail. Nadal and Charlatan both put in huge races yesterday. No matter when the run for the roses, it looks like Mr. Baffert is going to have a strong hand as he goes for the record for Kentucky Derby wins.

Low Five!

Low Five and worse to every owner and a certain bloodstock agent who now claims they are shocked and appalled and had no clue what was going on. Nobody buys that nonsense. It’s weak. Real weak.

High Five!

High Five the FBI and US Attorney for doing what racing couldn’t do and refused to do. Nice job G-Men! make it Count!

High Five!

High Five to the connections of King Guillermo which include former MLB all star Victor Martinez, trainer Juan Avila, and rider Sammy Camacho. They moved the colt back to the dirt from the turf and ran away with the Tampa Bay Derby and worked their way into the Kentucky Derby and three-year old picture. Nice job, good call!

Low Five!

Yeah we get the whole business is business thing. It is not often we will throw a Low Five at a winner, especially when it is a record third straight Grade 1 Big Cap, but John Sadler, Hronis Racing, and Ron Anderson get one here. Bad enough Ron dropped jockey Umberto Rispoli for John Velazquez after bringing the Italian riding sensation to the US from Hong Kong, but after Gift Box scratches, who had Joel Rosario named to ride, Ron’s other jock, ahem, they bump Rispoli off Combatant for Rosario. Combatant wins, and Rispoli who is winning and riding lights out at Santa Anita deserved the Big Cap, not the second mount fee they’ll pay him. LOW FIVE guys! Karma, it is not always fast, but it comes for ya eventually. As Spike Lee said “Do The Right Thing!”
