High Five / Low Five
Low Five!
So Bloodhorse posts a video of Finnick the Fierce on the track at Churchill Downs looking lame, very lame. You did not have to be a DVM to spot it. Low Five for posting that and not catching it. At least there was a somewhat happy ending. Finnick the Fierce is scratched, and Bloodhorse pulled the video. You’re Welcome!
High Five!
Happy Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby weekend. Enjoy and safe and speedy trips to all.
Low Five!
Low Five to Fox, and Fox Sports. Thanks for covering racing and all, but switching stations just before races is not something bettors, you know the ones who are watching want to see or deal with. Imagine switching channels on fourth down when a team is going for it in the Super Bowl. Get the picture? Get your act together.
High Five!
High Five to Win Win Win and all the connections who won the Forego in the slop in Forego like style. Win Win Win made a bold move from far back to pass Complexity late. That was a fun one to watch.
High Five!
All heart, that is what Maximum Security keeps showing us. A Gate to Wire win in the Pacific Classic puts him on track for the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He takes pressure, fights, and keeps going. Umberto Rispoli emphasized his claim on the hottest rider in the country, maybe the world, with a gutsy early move aboard Red King to upset United and win the Del Mar Handicap. That was one where the rider made all the difference. A lot of jocks don’t step out and make that move and don’t win the race. Bonjuorno Umberto, batti il cinque
Low Five!
So somehow NYRA throws Jerry Hollendorfer , a 70 plus year old Hall of Famer, off the grounds without saying and maybe even knowing what he allegedly did at Santa Anita, Rick Dutrow has a 10 year ban when there is testimony syringes were planted, but Wayne Potts can win a race at the hallowed Saratoga after being thrown out of Maryland for being a paper trainer for Marcus Vitali. BIG LOW FIVE!
Low Five!
Big Low 5 to Equibase and GMax. If you can’t properly time the races, move over. So much is based on the times. Inexcusable.
High Five!
High Five Mishriff, Frankie Dettori, John Gosden, and all the connections, they went to France to race at Deauville forsaking the Ebor Festival at York. Mishriff came through and paid the way and made the trip worth the 14 day quarantine. Palace Pier gave Frankie and Gosden and all his connections the encore taking the Prix de Jacques on Sunday, a Breeders’ Cup Mile “win and you’re in” race.
Low Five!
We’re not sure what happened on Fox, or RTN just prior to The Travers, but Low Five to all involved. It should not be a chore or difficult to watch a horse race. Especially one like The Travers Stakes.
