High Five / Low Five
High Five!
HIGH FIVE Hollie Doyle, two Group wins on British Champions Day at Ascot. She rode Trueshan in the Qipco Long Distance Cup and Glen Shiel in the Group 1 Sprint. That was some nice race riding.
Low Five!
Two losses to their families and the racing family, Rest in Peace Paul Pompa and Barry Abrams. Both will be missed.
High Five!
High Five Jackie’s Warrior and all his connections. This colt made the Grade 1 Champagne look like a workout. Big, strong, fast, attitude, all you want in a promising colt.
Low Five!
Ouch, as much as we love the lads from Ballydoyle and Aidan O’ Brien we have to give them another Low Five. Mixing up horses and riders in a group stakes, or any race for that matter is flat out not acceptable. Mother Earth and Snowfall, Snowfall and Mother Earth, James Doyle, and William Buick, how does this happen?
Low Five!
Ouch Ballydoyle. All the Ballydoyle horses are being scratched from the Arc and any supporting stakes tomorrow. In a statement they said urine samples from horses taken in France came back positive for a contaminant and to preserve the integrity of racing they are withdrawing their horses. This includes Aidan, Joseph, and Donnacha O’ Brien’s runners. Big blow to the Arc card but the right thing. Frankie and Mr. Gosden might be smiling.
High Five!
High Five Swiss Skydiver, Ken McPeek, Robbie Albarado and all the connections. The filly did it. She beat the males in the Preakness in a thrilling stretch long battle with Kentucky Derby winner Authentic. A nice heads up early move ride by Albarado. That was one exciting Preakness.
High Five!
No Arc de Triomphe but High Five on the announcement Love is coming to the US to contest the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland. The rains in France and anticipated soaked course at Longchamp prompted a change in plans.
High Five!
High Five Princess Noor and all her connections, easily passed her two turn test in the Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita and heads to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. High Five Bob Baffert who runs 1-2 in the Awesome Again, Improbable was just awesome, and Maximum Security showed his fight again to run second after being between horses with pressure most of the way.
Low Five!
LOW FIVE CHRB, Monmouth and anyone else who implements whip, or riding crop rules without the riders at the table with a big vote!
