High Five / Low Five
High Five!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Be safe and healthy this weekend! Of course enjoy the races.
Low Five!
Woodbine done for 2020. Low Five! Bummer…
Low Five!
How and why Jose Ortiz didn’t come down in the feature at Aqueduct on Thursday escapes us. A clear bump nearing the wire and a photo finish. You can’t deny the bump and can’t deny it cost Johnny V and Pletcher’s horse a shot at the win….really bad non call! LOW FIVE!
High Five!
HIGH FIVE Joel Rosario! 3000 wins and counting! HIGH FIVE Mark Glatt, 1000 wins and counting!
Low Five!
Low Five NBC. The coverage was so so but we have learned to live with that. That camera angle though. Whew, horrible angle to watch a race if you actually want to know what is going on1
High Five!
High Five Authentic, Bob Baffert, Johnny V, Spendthrift Farm, My Racehorse and all the owners and connections! Kentucky Derby Breeders’ Cup Classic Double! JohnnY V gets his first Classic! High Five P.C. Boudot, a Breeders’ Cup riding clinic! High Five Luis Saez and Dermot Weld, off the Breeders’ Cup donut! Monomoy Girl, what can you say! High Five Colin Keane! Gamine! Brad Cox! Congratulations to all the Breeders’ Cup winners and their connections! Whitmore! A true war horse! Great job Ron Moquett!
Low Five!
Low Five all the commentators covering the Breeders’ Cup who said things like; you have to be on the lead, you can’t come from behind, the way the track is playing to speed, nobody can close, you have to have speed etc.etc.etc.! Apparently nobody told Vequist or Essential Quality. The track was fast but fair. A few speed results including one by a lone front runner do NOT, repeat do NOT make a track bias. Shame these are no bettors or maybe $2 bettors. The real players would love them in the pools.
High Five!
High Five to all the Friday Breeders’ Cup winners and their connections! Golden Pal, Vequist, Aunt Pearl, Fire at Will, and Essential Quality! High Five Luis Saez on that first Breeders’ Cup win aboard Essential Quality. High Five Umberto Rispoli who had to double as an acrobat aboard Abarta after he lost his irons following a bump into the first turn. He managed to recover and stay on the two-year old who finished closing.
Low Five!
No Low Fives today….so far anyway. It’s Breeders’ Cup Friday!
