High Five!

High Five NYRA for bringing back a conventional Pick 6 even if it has a $1 minimum. We’d prefer $2 as a minimum but we love and welcome the change. It may even bring #P6K out of semi retirement!

What an encore. Mishriff comes off the Saudi Cup on dirt to win the Dubai Sheema Classic on turf. There might not be a better horse in training right now. Mystic Guide under Luis Saez takes the Dubai World Cup. He showed he is a force to be dealt with. Known Agenda stamped his ticket to the Kentucky Derby winning the Florida Derby. HIGH FIVES all around! HIGH FIVE Steve Budhoo who won his first Graded Stakes in the US with Eye of a Jedi, who he also owns and purchased for just $1500.

Low Five!

Our thoughts are with Hes too Icy for Me. This poor 13 year old gelding was entered by Pedro Soto Urias in the second race at Turf Paradise on March 26th, The Turf Paradise Quarter Horse Championship. He had not started since June 30th, 2019. He struggled to keep up throughout the 440 yard race and collapsed rolling over himself just past the wire. It was brutal, inexcusable, ugly, and avoidable. You are only as strong as your weakest link. Why he was entered, and why it was accepted is open to your interpretation and opinion, we simply say at times you just want to throw hands. For us this is one of those times. 🙏 To make things worse, Zenden broke down and was euthanized a few strides after the wire after winning the Golden Shaheen.
