High Five / Low Five
High Five!
Opening week at Saratoga in the books. Del Mar here we come!
High Five!
Paddington in the Group 1 Coral Eclipse. Most impressive for Coolmore.
Low Five!
Collusion in the NHC and some iffy handling by the NTRA who we must say quickly made it right. Big thumbs down to the three players involved.
High Five!
Although not under the best of circumstances, rather the worst as we did have a breakdown and injury, Auguste Rodin pulled off the English and Irish Derby winning the latter at the Curragh today. The win race Aidan O’ Brien an incredible 100th classic win. It was also as odd as it may seem Ryan Moore’s first win in the Irish Derby which somehow eluded him until today. Auguste Rodin has always been highly regarded by O’ Brien, Moore and everyone at Coolmore and you’d be hard pressed to say he has not come through in a big way.
High Five!
HIGH FIVE to all the Royal ascot winners. Special shout out to Frankie who rode his last Royal Ascot like the champion he is! Equinox four in a row now and staking her claim.
Low Five!
Congratulations. Ellis Park and Belmont Park were successful in their most difficult attempt to run their respective Saturday stakes simultaneously.
High Five!
It is Royal Ascot week.
Low Five!
The Belmont TV coverage was so so at best. A lot of mistakes, as in Cody’s Wish was never “toiling” and it could have been much better.
High Five!
A BIG HIGH FIVE to Arcangelo and his trainer Jena Antonucci. They win the Belmont Stakes, and Jena becomes the first woman trainer to do it!
