Tomas Mejia was banned 10 years and fined $5000.00 for using an electrical shocking device, also called a buzzer, machine or battery, on Strongerthanuknow in a winning race at Monmouth park on September 3rd, 2021. The horse was trained by Jorge Duarte Jr. and owned by Colts Neck Stable. Inexcusable.
Low Five!
There is really no excuse for what happened in the last race at Kentucky Downs the other day. Both halves of the odds on favored entry flip over in the gate, one scratches, the other is allowed to run, and not for purse money only, but gets eased and the bettors get hosed and the safety of all the horses and riders were in essence ignored by allowing that horse to race. Big time Low Five. Someone should have stepped up! Nobody did.

Stradivarius, what more can you say. Another marathon win for one of the best stayers of all time, if not the best! Expertly managed and handled by all involved and all heart. You have to love Stradivarius if you love horses, horse racing and the Sport of Kings! Hurricane Lane dominates the Group 1 St Leger for Godolphin. St. Mark’s Basilica wins a thriller of the Group 1 Irish Champions. Aidan O’ Brien with another win in the prestigious race!

High Fives to some impressive runs over the weekend: Max Player in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, War Like Goddess in the Flower Bowl, Grace Adler in the Del Mar Debutante and Flightline in his dominating allowance win.
Low Five!
There are some penalties you just have to face. Reducing the two year ban of trainer Amber Cobb from two years to two months was wrong, and sends a bad and dangerous message. Our horses deserve better. The Delaware racing Commission is a disgrace.

When will we get rid of the inconsistency and subjectivity we see daily by stewards. We need both of these things and some accountability, after all it is our money they are making decisions about!
