High Five!

Merry Christmas to all of you and all of yours! May you all find peace, love and happiness this holiday season. Be kind, thoughtful, and think of those less fortunate.

Low Five!

The Navarro case and sentencing hopefully sends the right message to all in the industry especially those not putting the horse first! let’s all hope those days are over and numbered!

Dec 17 2021

High Five!

Jorge Navarro was sentenced to 5 years. High Five to the FBI and US Attorney for doing what we have repeatedly failed as an industry to do.

Dec 12 2021

Low Five!

If you read the US Attorney’s sentencing letter in the Jorge Navarro case it paints a sad state of affairs for the sport we love. We have to get better immediately!

Dec 12 2021

High Five!

High Five Jon Court, still doing it in style. He wins the Poinsettia Stakes at Oaklawn days after becoming the sixth jockey to win 700 races at the historic track! He’s still got it! Golden Sixty, what can you say. A win machine! High Five Gary Bain, the veteran jockey rode a race Sunday at Gulfstream and he’s 69 years old! Wow!

Dec 5 2021

High Five!

HIGH FIVE Todd Pletcher. Todd took three stakes at Aqueduct including the Cigar Mile with Americanrevolution, the Remsen with Mo Donegal and the Demoiselle with Nest. He “may” have had a little help from the stewards but a win is a win and all three horses ran big.

Dec 4 2021

Low Five!

The NYRA Stewards appeared to be out of the office on both Friday and Saturday. Nobody was home and obvious disqualifications, albeit in our opinion were allowed to stand. Actually two of the regular stewards were OUT, two SUBS were in. Can’t make this up.

Dec 3 2021

High Five!

They’re racing at Gulfstream and Oaklawn! High Five Jon Court who did not take long to get his 700th winner at Oaklawn Park. He did it opening day of the 2021/2022 meet.

Low Five!

Kristian Rhein continued to supply SGF-1000 after knowing he was being watched, and admitting he didn’t even know exactly what was in it…..now he is facing three years or thereabouts. Seems light. Sammy Mendez led the quarter horse jockeys at Indiana Grand in 2020, 2021, apparently he had an edge, he was using a battery, buzzer, or machine take your pick on what you call it in both the mornings during training and in the afternoon races. Buh Bye Sammy. Good riddance!
