Not sure what we saw for a turf course at Churchill Downs for ahem Arlington Million day. Was it durf? Was it tirt? Whatever it was not sure we’d have run anything over it. That was ugly! Low Five!

It was workman like but Life is Good got it done in The Whitney for a Win And You’re In in The Breeders’ Cup Classic! War Like Goddess took her second Glens Falls in a row. High Fives to all!

A lot of us thought past post betting was done after the Volponi Breeders’ Cup pick 6 scandal. Not so apparently. Jonathan Stettin has often said the tote system is outdated and gets no money invested but to think we still have betting on the cross country pick 5 after the first leg is just a disgrace. To learn it comes down to one, yes one off site employee not flipping the switch makes it worse. Sometimes you just have to think are we better of playing three card monty?

High Five on a huge day at Saratoga for Steve Asmussen! Jackie’s Warrior wins The Alfred G Vanderbilt in a romp geared down for a record third Grade 1 at The Spa three years in a row. That has never been done at Saratoga before. Epicenter had the worst trip but ran the best race easily winning The Jim Dandy putting himself right back at the head of the class.

High Five Chad Brown, The Monmouth Cup, Matchmaker and United Nations all in a row with Flavien Prat up. High Five Cyberknife and all his connections, he sat the trip in the Breeders’ Cup Win And You’re In Haskell and got the upset win.
