High Five!
Kentucky Downs put up the money, Breeders’ Cup put up the Win And You’re In races and the racing was strong! High Fives to all the stakes winners, Somelikeithotbrown, Dalika, Bran, Red Knight, Campenelle, and One Timer! High Fives out west at Del Mar to stakes winners Comanche Country, And Tell Me Nolies, and Avenue de France. Shout outs in Ireland to Luxembourg and Pearls Galore, big winners at Leopardstown. Aidan O’ Brien yet again in The Irish Champions!
Low Five!
RIP Her Majesty the Queen
Low Five!
The DQ in the 10th race at Saratoga was reminiscent of the old Allemeuse fiasco of years past. It made no logical sense to any savvy race watcher. None! Trevor McCarthy was sandwiched by Dylan Davis with a bump, and Irad Ortiz with a bump and some aggressive whip and arm action a la Mo Donegal and Zandon in The Remsen. Dylan loses the win, Irad gets put up, gets a pass, and Trevor is second. Head scratcher!!!
Low Five!
Bad weather forces Kentucky Downs to cancel after the 7th race Saturday. Booooo!
High Five!
Olympiad bounces back in The Jockey Club Gold Cup at Saratoga, a Breeders’ Cup Win And You’re In race for The Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland in November. Flightline made a laugher out of The Pacific Classic and heads to The Breeders’ Cup Classic one of the shortest priced favorites we’ve seen in that one in a while, maybe ever. “You still got to get over that wall Seegar”
High Five!
Epicenter erases any doubt he is the best three-year old in the land with a victory in The Travers that was as impressive as his Jim Dandy. HIGH FIVE to all the connections! This colt dominated.
Low Five!
Big Low Five to whomever made the call to NOT SCRATCH Joey Loose Lips to start the Pick 6 at Saratoga. He aggressively broke through the gate and twisted around pretty hard before a starter made a great catch. He was re loaded quickly and allowed to run. He toiled a well beaten last as the Favorite. He should have been a scratch, if nothing else precautionary. Safety First, Bettors Next. Horrible decision.
High Five!
Nest is Best in The Alabama at Saratoga! nest dominated The Alabama at Saratoga and stamped herself as the dominant three-year old filly in the land. High Fives to all involved with this exceptional filly. Nest is Best!
