For those of you not as familiar with the Game of Silks, it is an exciting fantasy game set in the real world of thoroughbred horseracing. Players own digital twins of real-life racehorses and earn rewards based on the actual results on and off the track. Silks tokenizes the nearly 20,000 horses born and registered as thoroughbreds each year into dynamic NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) then tracks the lifecycle and productivity of each horse throughout its career. Owners of Silks horses earn valuable rewards based on their real-world racing and breeding performance.
Last week saw eleven two-year-old races with purses exceeding $50,000 with Game of Silks’ winners which included two Grade 3 stakes races at Saratoga – The Schuylerville Stakes for juvenile fillies on opening day, 7/13/23 and The Sanford Stakes for the baby boys on Saturday, 7/15/23 – each with a purse of $175,000. In the six furlong Schuylerville, Becky’s Joker – owned by SaintMoore stables in Silks – split horses at the top of the stretch before rolling to a 3 ¼ length score. Ridden by Javier Castellano and trained by Gary Contessa, this filly made her first ever start a winning one – what a way to break her maiden. Congratulations to SaintMoore stables who earned 0.4826 ETH for the victory.
Equally exciting was the Sanford which was captured by long shot Yo Yo Candy who returned $94.00 for $2 Win tickets. This was the second win for this colt in the third start of his promising, young career – he’s conditioned by Daniel Velazquez. This dude stepped on the gas in the stretch to put his nose on the wire 2 ¼ clear of his nearest rival and polish off the six furlong event in 1:11.83. Expertly piloted by Angel Castillo, he earned his Silks’ owner – ONE EYED DOG STABLES – who had a huge week – 0.4966 ETH for the win.
