Owners removing colt from Derby consideration to give him more time to develop
Churchill Downs Press Release
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Wagering has been suspended on #2 Arabian Knight for Pool 5 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager following a statement issued late Saturday night from his owner, Zedan Racing Stables, that stated the colt would be removed from Derby consideration.
The statement said, “Trainer Tim Yakteen wasn’t happy with his last work, and we feel it’s in Arabian Knight’s best interest not to rush and allow him more time to develop. We know he’s a superior talent and our plan is to point him toward a summer and fall campaign.”
Pool 5 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager is set to close Sunday at 6 p.m. while the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager Pool 1 will close at 6:30 p.m.
