First Foal for Stakes-Winning, Florida-Bred Champion Horse of the Year

MORRISTON, Fla. – Pleasant Acres Stallions is excited to announce the arrival of SIMPLIFICATION’s first foal – a healthy bay colt out of a daughter of Quality Road. Born January 17, the colt is owned by First Finds Farm and Brittany Updike.
“SIMPLIFICATION is a good looking, classy stallion. His first foal is exactly what we expected – strong, healthy, good bone, and great conformation,” said Director of Stallion Services Christine Jones. “What a brilliant way to start his career as a stallion. We expect big things for his future!”
SIMPLIFICATION broke his maiden at 2 by 16 3/4 lengths. At 3, he won the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth S. by 3 1/2 lengths and the Mucho Macho Man Stakes by 4 lengths. He placed in the G3 Holy Bull Stakes, G1 Curlin Florida Derby, G3 West Virginia Derby, and G3 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes. At 4, he placed in the G2 WinStar Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes.
SIMPLIFICATION is a GSW son of NOT THIS TIME – a Kentucky sire who has seven G1Ws from his first three crops and two G1Ws in 2024. Also in 2024, he had a FTSAR sale-topper at $3.4 million. NOT THIS TIME stands for a $175,000 fee. SIMPLIFICATION is the only son of NOT THIS TIME standing in the USA outside of Kentucky.
The colt’s dam – Calidad – by Quality Road – is out of Outtacypresshills, by Big Brown. The colt’s second dam is half to WEST HILLS GIANT – multiple black type winner and graded-stakes placed performer and earner of nearly $660,000.
