Florent Geroux Picks up Noble Indy

April 28, 2018

When you are riding good and winning races good things have a tendency to happen. Fresh off winning the Keeneland spring riding title jockey Florent Geroux, who we called the most improved rider in the country about three years ago, has picked up the mount on Noble Indy in the Kentucky Derby for Todd Pletcher.

Florent worked the colt over the Churchill Downs strip in 1:01.60 for 5/8ths of a mile and was out in 1:14.60 for six furlongs. His trainer said the following about the work:

“I thought he did super. Florent seemed to get along with him really well, I thought he stayed focused once he got on his own, and galloped out with good energy. “

Looking at what a horse can do, is likely to do, has the capability of doing is a tough tough task. There is nobody better than Jon Stettin at that. Jon has the knowledge, experience and the eyes for deciphering a horse's potential. This episode is gold
