Pleasant Acres Stallions Announces First Confirmed In-Foal Mare to GULFPORT, Multiple Stakes Winning Son of UNCLE MO
Gulfport, Florida’s Most Exiting Freshman Sire
Morriston, Florida (March 1, 2026) — Pleasant Acres Stallions is pleased to announce that Kentucky-bred Miss Elle Dee Kay (by Lemon Drop Kid), owned by Alan and Stephanie Amato and based at Red Sunset Farm with Jim Loebig, has been confirmed in foal to GULFPORT (Uncle Mo), making her the first mare confirmed in-foal to the multiple stakes-winning, twice Grade 1-placed stallion for the 2026 breeding season.
“Getting that first confirmed in-foal mare is always a meaningful milestone, and we’re excited to share the news that Miss Elle Dee Kay is in foal to GULFPORT,” said Christine Jones, Director of Stallion Services for Pleasant Acres Stallions. “GULFPORT brings a rare blend of elite pedigree and proven performance, and we’re looking forward to seeing his first foals on the ground.”
A multiple stakes winner and twice Grade 1-placed son of champion sire UNCLE MO, GULFPORT joined Pleasant Acres Stallions’ Florida roster for the 2026 breeding season at a $7,500 fee. A TDN Rising Star, Gulfport made an immediate impact for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, debuting at Churchill Downs with a seven-length maiden victory.
In his next start, Gulfport delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent Churchill Downs stakes history, winning the Bashford Manor Stakes by 12 1/4 lengths as the 1-5 favorite — the widest margin in the history of the six-furlong black-type event. His 1:09.25 clocking was the second-fastest in the race’s history at the time and earned a 91 Beyer Speed Figure, the co-second-highest number by a 2-year-old that year. Gulfport went on to finish second in both the Grade 2 Saratoga Special Stakes and Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes, concluding his juvenile season with a third in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes. At four, he hit the board in all four starts, including a victory in the $300,000 Bet on Sunshine Stakes and a runner-up finish in the black-type Ring the Bell Stakes. At five, he added a third-place finish in the King Cotton Stakes.
Gulfport is out of Fame and Fortune, a winning full sister to Grade 1 winner CROSS TRAFFIC (Unbridled’s Song) and a daughter of multiple Grade 1 winner STOP TRAFFIC (Cure the Blues). His deeper female family includes the line of champion CHEONGDAM DOKKI, as well as multiple graded stakes winner and track record-setter GOULDINGS GREEN, and extends to millionaire Grade 1 winner AMERICANREVOLUTION.
Gulfport joins an accomplished roster at Pleasant Acres Stallions that includes Champions Dream (Justify), Chess Chief (Into Mischief), Doppelganger (Into Mischief), Magic on Tap (Tapit), Mr Fisk (Arrogate), Neolithic (Harlan’s Holiday), Simplification (Not This Time), Verifying (Justify).
