Enable worked under Frankie Dettori at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile as she gets set to try for a third straight victory in the Prix De’ Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in just over a week. The daughter of Nathanial worked with her male stablemate Crossed Baton and was a neck to the good without being all out.
“That was just what we wanted for Enable on what was beautiful ground after seven millimeters of rain yesterday,” trainer John Gosden said. “I was very pleased with the work, which was built up nicely, but I just wanted her to stay with her lead horse as we’re not here to go eight lengths clear or anything like that. She had a good, healthy blow, and it went to plan, which doesn’t always happen with work mornings.”
If Enable were to win the Arc, or run well without winning, it is not clear if she will venture to the US to try for another Breeders’ Cup victory. You’d have to think it will be strongly considered.
