The lead up to the Pegasus has been anything but routine for Florent Geroux. Not only did he lose his father to an accident in France in December, he had to take the written exam portion of the process to get his American citizenship on Friday, the day prior to the Pegasus and he had to do to in Chicago.
Between the emotional trip to France, the test and all the traveling it can only lead to increased pressure riding the Horse of the Year and heavy favorite in the world’s richest horse race. Florent seems like a cool competitor and he’ll need that ice in the veins attitude come post time.
