After a rain delay due to a storm that swept through Saratoga, Peter Brant’s Dunbar Road splashed to a sloppy track win in the Alabama Stakes (Grade 1). Jose Ortiz broke sharp aboard the Chad Brown trainee from the rail . but was content to take back and let the others battle up front.
Turning for home Ortiz swung Dunbar Road to the far outside and she just cruised to an easy victory from there. Point of Honor was up for second without threatening the winner. Street Band checked in third. The win was Jose Ortiz’s third straight Alabama.
