The 2017 Pegasus draw is complete. Gun Runner is not in. Arrogate drew the rail. Uncanny how Bob Baffert has such bad luck with draws sometimes. I don’t think it will matter that much here.
California Chrome drew the 12, the far outside post with not the longest run into the first turn. Suffice to say the camps of the big two could not have been overjoyed with the draw. Nonetheless it created a little excitement and drama.
I’d have to say on the surface California Chrome took the worst of the 2017 Pegasus draw but he likes it on the outside. Victor Espinoza will have to use his speed and avoid being carried out wide into that first turn at all costs. Mike Smith will have to sit chilly and make his own luck and trip.
