OZONE PARK, N.Y.— Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $75,633 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $148 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence began in Race 3 with Everlys Girl [No. 7, $7.50] taking a six-furlong claiming tilt with Kendrick Carmouche aboard for trainer Michelle Nevin. Carmouche won again in Race 4 aboard Shesalittle Edgy [No 5. $5.80] in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden claimer for conditioner Rob Atras.
Race 5 saw a frontrunning score from the Carlos David-trained Poseidon’s Mist [No. 7, $4.60*] in a one-mile state-bred maiden claimer with Samuel Camacho, Jr. at the helm. In the following race, Dazzy [No. 4, $4.70*] captured a 6 1/2-furlong claimer with Dylan Davis in the irons for trainer Timothy Hills in Race 6.
The largest price of the sequence was Stjames [No. 1, $39.80], who closed from deep under Lane Luzzi to capture Race 7 for trainer Marcelo Arenas in a one mile starter allowance for older horses.
With six horses left uncovered in the final leg [Race 8], the Brad Cox-trained and Manny Franco-piloted Midtown Lights [No. 1, $10.80] triggered the carryover after cruising to victory in a one mile optional claimer for older state-bred fillies and mares.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 3 at 2:20 p.m. Eastern and includes the $100,000 Cicada in Race 6. First post on the eight-race card is 1:20 p.m.
