OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Saturday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a two-day Pick 6 carryover of $110,188 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day during Friday’s nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $652.83 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Friday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 4 with a win from Gamebred [No. 9, $5.48*] in a six-furlong New York-bred maiden claimer moved to the main track with Dylan Davis aboard for trainer Charlie Baker.

Trainer Wesley Ward sent out the next winner with the Hall of Famer Joel Rosario-piloted Bostontonian [No. 1, $7.58] capturing a six-furlong allowance optional claimer for New York-breds, in Race 5. The next race saw Kendrick Carmouche visit the winner’s circle aboard Time to Roll [No. 1, $7.24*] for trainer Horacio De Paz in a one-turn mile state-bred maiden special weight run off the turf, in Race 6.

In Race 7, the Grade 2, $250,000 Beldame, the Hall of Famer John Velazquez navigated Gun Song [No. 3, $11.54] to victory for trainer Mark Hennig. In Race 8, a six-furlong claimer on the outer turf, Amazing Athena [No. 3, $64.18], a 31-1 longshot, surprised the field with Katie Davis up for conditioner David Duggan.

With the carryover guaranteed heading into the Race 9 finale, a one-mile off-the-turf maiden special weight for state-breds, the Kenny McPeek-trained Gaming Wizard [No. 7, $10.78] prevailed with Christopher Elliott in the saddle.

Saturday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 7 at approximately 3:39 p.m. Eastern. First post is 12:35 p.m. for the 12-race card which features the Grade 3, $200,000 Belmont Turf Sprint [Race 4], the Grade 1, $500,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic [Race 5], the Grade 2, $300,000 Woodward [Race 6], the Grade 2, $250,000 Gallant Bloom [Race 8] and the Grade 3 $200,000, Vosburgh presented by Army Mule [Race 9] – a “Win and You’re In” for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint.

Glad you enjoyed it and in my opinion Jon simply has one of the best horse racing podcasts out there!
