LOUISVILLE, Ky.– Bettors have a lucrative $240,017 carryover in the Derby City 6 to chase Sunday at Churchill Downs for the 12-race closing day program.
There is a mandatory payout in Sunday’s 20-cent Derby City 6, which covers Races 7-12 starting at approximately 3:49 p.m. (all times Eastern) because it’s closing day of the 26-day Fall Meet.
The jackpot was $240,016.80 at the conclusion of Saturday’s action.
All monies will be distributed Sunday to ticket holders with the most winners in the six-race series.Track officials estimate the force-out of Sunday’s total Derby City 6 pool to reach $1 million with new money.
Takeout on the Derby City 6 is just 15% – one of the lowest multi-race wager takeout rates in American racing – and only costs 20 cents per combination.
Sunday’s closing day sequence features 63 entered horses for an average of 10.5 entries per race:
- Race 7 (3:49 p.m.): Alw 127000n1x, f&m, 1 M (eight entries)
- Race 8 (4:18 p.m.): Mdn 120k, 2yo, 1 M (16 entries, 12 can run)
- Race 9 (4:48 p.m.): OC 175000b, 3&up, 6 F (seven entries)
- Race 10 (5:18 p.m.): OC 80000n2x, 3&up, 1 1/16 M (12 entries)
- Race 11 (5:48 p.m.): $250,000 Cherokee Mile, 3&up, 1 M (11 entries)
- Race 12 (6:18 p.m.): Alw 16000s, 3&up, 7 F (12 entries)
