Zedan Racing Stables’ $3.2 million unraced 2-year-old colt, Barnes, is set to make his debut next Wednesday at Churchill Downs in a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight contest for trainer Bob Baffert. This would mark Baffert’s first start beneath the Twin Spires since the end of his three-year suspension by Churchill Downs Incorporated in 2021.

Named in honor of Baffert’s longtime assistant Jimmy Barnes, the highly regarded Into Mischief colt is slated to break from post No. 3 under jockey Martin Garcia. Carded as Race 7 at 3:55 p.m., the race drew a field of 11 juveniles.

Barnes, unnamed at the time of the Oct. 30-Nov. 1 Kentucky Derby Future Wager, he closed as the 39-1 ninth betting choice in the field of 40.

Barnes is scheduled to arrive at Churchill Downs on Thursday along with stablemate Nooni.

Why did it take so long for me to find this channel? Shame on the Youtube search algorithm. I search racing topics all the time and can’t remember this coming up. Thank you for actual pro content instead of the usual fugazi nonsense. @1matrix9 View testimonials
