LOUISVILLE, Ky.—A total of 22 Breeders’ Cup pre-entrants based at Churchill Downs or Churchill Downs’ Trackside Louisville are prepared to head to Santa Anita for the World Championship event taking place on Friday-Saturday.
The local Breeders’ Cup contenders are led by Classic (GI) pre-entrant Saudi Crown, one of eight Brad Cox trainees participating in the Breeders’ Cup. His others are A Mo Reay (Distaff), Caravel (Turf Sprint), Idiomatic (Distaff), Matareya (Filly and Mare Sprint), Timberlake (Juvenile), Wet Paint (Distaff) and Zozos (Dirt Mile).

Most of the local Breeders’ Cup contenders will train Monday then van to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to fly to California. Entries for all 14 Breeders’ Cup events will take place later that evening.
