Welcome to our Breeders’ Cup page. Nothing is more exciting than the “superbowl” of horse racing otherwise known as the Breeders’ Cup. Participants from around the world converge to one location bringing their best champion thoroughbred race horses to compete against one another. The best of the best square off and compete for some of the largest purses in the world and the chance to be crowned a Breeders’ Cup World Champion.

Since it’s inception in 1984 has been mainly held in the United States with the exception in 1996 when the Breeders Cup world championships was held at Woodbine Race Course in Canada. These prestigious races originally started out as a one day event until 2007 when it became a two day extravaganza of racing.

Several Breeders’ Cup Champions go on to become Eclipse Award winners. Top horses that go on to be crowned as World Champions often have a higher value to breeders in the breeding shed because of the prestige that comes with being crowned a World Champion as you have beaten the best competition there is. This is the ultimate showcase for a breeder to display their talents on a world stage.

You’ll find coverage of all the excitement leading up to the races such as previews, features, results, workouts and more. We interview Breeders’ Cup participants including trainers, jockeys, owners and breeders.

We bring you close to the action with all the press releases, filmed interviews and more. Let Past the Wire be your ultimate source for Breeders’ Cup coverage.
