Luxury Automotive Company Named the Official Luxury Vehicle and Transportation Partner of the 2020 World Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 30, 2020) – The Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious international events, today names luxury automotive company Lexus as the Official Luxury Vehicle and Transportation Partner of the 2020 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which will take place at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. In partnership with sports management and consulting firm JMI Sports, Breeders’ Cup and Lexus will introduce special services designed to enhance both the onsite and remote viewing experience, including expanded transportation options for attending participants and video content for those watching the races from home.

Over the World Championships weekend, Lexus will exclusively provide a fleet of luxury vehicles for owners, trainers, breeders and partners to use to access the track and other relevant event areas. Additionally, Breeders’ Cup will designate the parking lot at Keeneland as the “Lexus Lot.” The partnership also involves Lexus’ sponsorship of this year’s Jockey Cam, which will return to the 2020 event following its Breeders’ Cup debut at the 2017 World Championships. Produced by Equine Productions, an international film production company based in the United Kingdom, the Jockey Cam is a helmet-mounted camera that provides viewers with unique, bird’s eye viewpoints of the races from atop a jockey’s helmet. Unlike past events, two Jockey Cams will be utilized at the upcoming World Championships, allowing both Breeders’ Cup and NBC, the event’s official broadcast partner, to utilize videos from multiple vantage points for their video content. The development will confirm the 2020 Breeders’ Cup as the first Thoroughbred horse racing event in the United States to use two Jockey Cams during live competition.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Lexus, one of the world’s most premier automobile brands, to provide exclusive experiences for participants and viewers of the 2020 World Championships and reinforce Breeders’ Cup as a leading luxury lifestyle event,” said Breeders’ Cup Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, Chris McNamara. “This collaboration not only affords our essential personnel, horsemen and athletes with access to the safest and most stylish transportation services throughout the World Championships weekend, but it also strengthens the viewing experience for fans at home through the enhanced Jockey Cam capabilities.”

“Like Lexus, the Breeders’ Cup represents style and performance, and we look forward to showcasing Lexus’ brave design, imaginative technology and exhilarating capability at this championship event,” said General Manager of Lexus Central, Scott Neiheisel. “The Breeders’ Cup is particularly exciting to the Lexus family because of our special connection to The Bluegrass State with the production of the Lexus ES 350 happening in nearby Georgetown, Kentucky.”

The 37th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is scheduled to take place on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. The event will be broadcast live on NBC, NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. To learn more about the event, please visit BreedersCup.com/2020. Breeders’ Cup is also committed to alleviating the impacts of the health crisis on the horse racing community and other industry stakeholders in need.
