Bob Baffert Seeks to Retain Ownership of Oaklawn’s Rebel with American Anthem

They may have to rename The Rebel and call it The Bob Baffert when all is said and done.

Bob has just about owned the race the past 6-7 years. This year he’ll send his current top Kentucky Derby prospect American Anthem to Hot Springs. American Anthem is lightly raced with only two starts, but in my opinion he is as talented as any three year old I have seen this year.

He’ll have some hurdles on Saturday, but one way or the other I’d think he will get a lot out of the race and move forward off it. It’s probably the deepest Derby prep so far this year.
