TORONTO— Bedazzle Me, a daughter of Frac Daddy-Bedazzled, will look to pull off the upset in Sunday’s $250,000 Bison City Stakes, at Woodbine.

The Bison City, a 1 1/16-mile fixture that follows the Woodbine Oaks Presented by Budweiser as the second leg of the Triple Tiara for 3-year-old fillies foaled in Canada, attracted a field of nine, including Anthony Pottinger trainee Bedazzle Me.

Owned by Robert and Patricia Weber, who co-bred with Michael Byrne, the filly has recorded 10 top-four finishes and is 1-2-4 from 12 career starts.

“She is a very consistent horse,” praised Pottinger. “I like the way she tries every time. That’s the way she has always been. I feel confident coming into this race. She is doing very well.”

In eight starts as a 2-year-old, Bedazzle Me went 0-1-4. She broke her maiden in her first 3-year-old start, a three-quarter length triumph at seven panels over the Tapeta on May 5.

The grey will make her stakes debut in the Bison City, slated as race eight on Sunday’s 11-race program.

Bedazzle Me has taken to the Woodbine turf in her past two starts, finishing fourth beaten only a length, over one mile on the inner on June 10, followed by a fifth in her most recent start, a seven-furlong trek on the E.P. Taylor on July 8.

Pottinger believes his filly will appreciate the stretch out in the Bison City.

“I like the distance of this race for her. I think she is at her best when she sits a few lengths off the lead and then she comes running. She is very strong in the late running.”

Pottinger, who sent out Wickedblackbullet to a third-place finish in the 2022 Simcoe Stakes and Desdemona to a third in the 2020 Eternal Search Stakes, was immediately impressed with Bedazzle Me.

“The first time we breezed her, you could tell this horse had talent. She was showing us signs that she could become a nice horse and she has. Anything we asked of her, she always did it and did it well. The one thing with her around the barn is that she will kick. But we love having her with us. When the day of the race comes, she puts on her game face.”

The $250,000 Wonder Where Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Tiara, is scheduled for 1 ¼ miles on the E.P Taylor Turf Course on September 10 at Woodbine.

First post for Sunday is 1:05 p.m. Fans can watch and wager on all the races through HPIbet.com and the DarkHorse Bets app.
