Maryland Horse Library to Host Author Talk with Jennifer Kelly on The Foxes of Belair
Maryland Horse Library News Release/Edited
Past The Wire contributing writer Jennifer Kelly, author of Sir Barton and the Making of the Triple Crown, has released a new book about the glorious past of Thoroughbred horse racing and its famous athletes. Jennifer will be at the Maryland Horse Library to talk about her book Thursday, June 8 at 4:00 p.m. Attendance is free.
In this exciting book, Kelly delves into the history of one of Maryland’s – and America’s – most famed Thoroughbred breeders of the early 20th century, William Woodward, in her newest book, The Foxes of Belair: Gallant Fox, Omaha, and the Quest for the Triple Crown.
Not only does she examine the racing legacies of his Triple Crown winners Gallant Fox and Omaha, who spent their early lives on the historic Belair Stud in Prince George’s County, but how William Woodward’s service to racing during the 20th century forever changed the landscape of the American Thoroughbred industry.
When not busy writing books, Jennifer, a former college writing instructor, has also offered freelance proofreading and editing services as Edit Your Docs since 2014.
