OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Monday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $44,200 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $4,911 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Sunday’s sequence kicked off in Race 4, a one-mile claimer for older horses, with the Manny Franco-piloted Midnight Trouble [No. 1, $11] prevailing for trainer Tom Morley.
Ever So Sweet [No. 2, $7.80] scored in Race 5, an outer turf sprint for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up, with Flavien Prat up for trainer Brad Cox and was followed by Screaming Uncle [No. 9, $10.40] taking a claiming sprint for 3-year-olds-and-up in Race 6 with Romero Maragh at the helm for conditioner Randi Persaud.
Hamilton’s Way [No. 4, $65.50] upset Race 7, an 11-furlong inner turf test for maidens 3-year-olds-and-up, at odds of 31-1 as the second longest shot on the board with Dylan Davis engineering the winning trip for trainer Ray Handal.
Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. and trainer Lisa Lewis combined to win Race 8, an allowance optional-claiming mile for 3-year-olds and up, with the favored Bank Frenzy [No. 9, $4.90*].
With the carryover already confirmed, Your Man Alex [No. 5, $67] provided yet another upset as the second longest shot on the board in Race 9, an outer turf sprint for New York-bred maidens 3-years-old and up, with Lane Luzzi riding for trainer Melanie Giddings.
Monday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at 2:35 p.m. Eastern. First post on the nine-race card, which features the Grade 2 Wonder Again in Race 2, is 1:05 p.m.
