Live Racing At Aqueduct Canceled Sunday

October 11, 2025

Due To Nor’easter

NYRA Press Office

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled live racing on Sunday at Aqueduct Racetrack due to a powerful coastal storm forecast to bring extremely high winds and heavy rainfall to the New York City metropolitan area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has placed New York City under a wind advisory beginning Sunday at noon, with current NWS forecasts calling for sustained winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting, and wagering is available via NYRABets.com.

Sunday’s featured $150,000 Carle Place will be brought back on Sunday, October 19 with entries to be taken on Wednesday, October 15.

One of the best articles on the state of emergency of our industry. Hits the nail on the head. If we want to save racing we must band together and actively work to save it. If we want the industry to die...we can continue with what we're doing.
