HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Jockey Emisael Jaramillo enjoyed a banner day on Saturday’s Juvenile Showcase program at Gulfstream Park, riding the winners of five races, including three stakes.

The 42-year-old Venezuela native scored stakes victories aboard Shivaree ($10.80) in the Buffalo Man (Race 5) and Cheermeister ($28.20) in the Wait a While (Race 7) and Spanish Point ($6.40) in the House Party (Race 8) in addition to winning aboard Kozy Kat ($5.20) in Race 2 and Bad to the Core ($6) in Race 11.

“I feel very good and proud to win three stakes today and thankful to all the trainers who gave me the opportunity,” Jaramillo said.

Jaramillo was Venezuela’s all-time leading rider with more than 4,000 winners, including three Triple Crown winners, before venturing to South Florida in 2015. He has ridden more than 900 winners in the U.S. and has won four graded stakes aboard X Y Jet in the U.S., as well as the $2.5 million Golden Shaheen aboard the Jorge Navarro trainee on the 2019 Dubai World Cup card.

Jaramillo, who will be most active in the 2019 Clásico Internacional del Caribe card at Gulfstream Dec. 8, has ridden four winners of the Clásico del Caribe, the premier race for 3-year-olds from the Caribbean and Latin America.

Who’s Hot: Trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey Luis Saez teamed for a double with Lemoncita ($3.40) in Race 1 and The Big Kahuna ($4) in Race 6.

Trainer Ralph Nicks gave Emisael Jaramillo a leg up on Shivaree and Kozy Kat.

Trainer Patrick Biancone also saddled a pair of winners Saturday, scoring a stakes win with Sole Volante ($29.40) in the $75,000 Pulpit in Race 9 and Blazing Desire ($5) in Race 4.
