1. Purpose
The Past the Wire Gambling Hall of Fame recognizes extraordinary gamblers, wagers, achievements, careers, and contributions to the culture of gambling.
The Hall of Fame is created, owned, and administered by Past the Wire.
2. Nominations
Anyone may nominate anyone, including themselves.
Nominations may involve horse racing, sports betting, casino gambling, poker, contests, prediction markets, investing, speculation, or any other legitimate form of wagering or risk.
No claim is too unusual to submit. Every nomination, however, is subject to verification.
3. Vetting
Past the Wire may examine tickets, account records, published selections, contest results, photographs, videos, interviews, social-media posts, witness accounts, and any other relevant evidence.
Past the Wire may investigate, question, publish, discuss, accept, reject, or decline any nomination at its sole discretion.
A nomination may be rejected if the claim cannot be reasonably verified, contains materially false information, or does not meet the standards of the Hall of Fame.
4. The Committee
Nominees who survive the vetting process may be presented to the Past the Wire Gambling Hall of Fame Committee.
The Committee will be announced separately.
Committee members will consider the difficulty of the wager or achievement, the odds overcome, the reasoning involved, the significance of the moment, the quality of the evidence, and the nominee’s broader impact on gambling.
5. Election
Induction requires approval from at least 75 percent of the Committee members voting.
Voting may be conducted privately. Individual votes need not be disclosed.
The Committee is not required to induct any person in any given voting period.
6. Honorary Inductees
The Committee may elect honorary inductees whose courage, vision, innovation, influence, or historic impact helped shape gambling culture.
An honorary inductee need not qualify through a single documented wager.
7. Founding Inductees
Individuals designated before the adoption of these bylaws constitute the founding class of the Past the Wire Gambling Hall of Fame.
All subsequent inductees will be selected under the standards and voting procedures stated here.
8. Submission Rights
By submitting a nomination, the submitter confirms that the information provided is truthful to the best of their knowledge and that they have the right to provide all submitted words, photographs, documents, recordings, and other materials.
The submitter assigns to Past the Wire all rights the submitter lawfully owns in the written nomination and grants Past the Wire a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, display, promote, archive, and create content from all submitted materials in any format or medium.
Past the Wire owns all Hall of Fame profiles, articles, interviews, videos, graphics, programs, and other content it creates from or in connection with a nomination.
Submission does not guarantee publication, nomination, election, compensation, or induction.
9. Interviews and Induction Content
Inductees may be invited to appear on a Past the Wire program and participate in an official induction interview.
Past the Wire retains all rights to the programs, recordings, profiles, promotional materials, and other content it produces in connection with the Hall of Fame.
10. Revocation
Past the Wire may suspend or revoke an induction if material information is later proven false, fraudulent, misleading, or inconsistent with the integrity of the Hall of Fame.
Revocation requires approval from at least 75 percent of the Committee members voting.
11. Administration
Past the Wire may interpret, amend, or update these bylaws when necessary to protect the credibility, fairness, and integrity of the Hall of Fame.
All eligibility, vetting, voting, publication, and induction decisions are final.
