Pleasant Acres Stallions Press Release
MORRISTON, Fla. – Pleasant Acres Stallions is pleased to announce the arrival of VERIFYING’s first foal – a strong and healthy filly out of MALIBU MOON daughter Selective Memory. Born January 25 at 5:30 am, the foal is owned by Belvedere Farm in Reddick, FL.
“There is so much to say about Verifying and the potential for his progeny to take the racing industry by storm,” said Director of Stallion Services Christine Jones. “A half-brother to 6X Grade 1 winner of nearly $14 million – MIDNIGHT BISOU – VERIFYING is a dual hemisphere stallion who had a very successful breeding debut in Florida and Argentina in 2024. This first filly is an exceptional representation of his impeccable pedigree, and we can’t wait to see the others as they arrive!”
VERIFYING is a GSW 3X G1 placed son of Triple Crown Winner JUSTIFY. VERIFYING broke his maiden in his debut in Saratoga and in his next start he was 2nd in the G1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont at the Big A. At 3, he won the G3 Indiana Derby and was 2nd in the G1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes, G1 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes, and G3 Matt Winn Stakes. On the board 64% of his starts, VERIFYING earned nearly $900,000.
VERIFYING’s 1st dam, GSW DIVA DELITE, is dam to famed 6X G1W MIDNIGHT BISOU – Eclipse Award 2019 Champion Older Dirt Female and earner of nearly $14 million. Florida-bred DIVA DELITE showed class and stamina to win the G3 Florida Oaks, going 1 1/16 mile on dirt. She also won the Gasparilla and Suncoast Stakes. In 2019, DIVA DELITE was purchased at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale for $1.2 million while in foal with VERIFYING.
VERIFYING’s 2nd dam is stakes-placed Tour Hostess – half-sister to MSW BAY STREET GAL. His 3rd dam, Counsel’s Gal is half-sister to RUNAWAY FAIR LADY, winner of the Pago Hop Breeders’ Cup Stakes.
The foal’s 2nd dam is STREET CRY daughter, Chelsea Ballad. She is dam to G3 placed Strong Barows who, with career earnings of nearly $800,000, is a 2X stakes winner and is G3 placed in Japan. The filly’s 3rd dam, Chelsey Dancer, by AFFIRMED, is dam to G1W winner CHELSEY FLOWER – who sold for $1.1 million in the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. CHELSEY FLOWER is dam to G3W and G1 placed KENTUCKY DYNAMITE and is grand dam to Champion 2YO Filly in Turkey, TAPIT GIRL.
