Drefong Goes for Repeat

October 31, 2017

Drefong took last year’s Breeders’ Cup Sprint as a three year old facing older horses on his way to establishing himself as a world class and top sprinter.

This year he faces some pace pressure with Takaful and Imperial Hint in the field. Drawing inside with the two hole won’t help unless Mike Smith and him outrun them early or he lets them go and doesn’t get bottled up inside and eases out into the catbird seat.

That is a likely scenario but he will need a little luck to make it happen. Then again sometimes the fastest horse just wins.
